DIY Spider Web

What you’ll need: Yarn and adhesive tape

Before checking out Amazon or eBay for ready-made webs, try this DIY spider web first. All you need is a ball of yarn with the colour of your choice, an adhesive tape, and patience. For this spider web, we will be using two strands of yarn for every line we make. That way it will be sturdier.

First, unroll some yarn then fold it in half. Then, make an X depending on how big you want your spider web to be. Use some adhesive tape to secure each yarn’s end. Add additional lines around the previous X you’ve made, so it will turn out like this:

After which, make your knot (shown below) on whichever string you like, then loop it around the other strings until it makes a full web.

Spooky Candles

What you’ll need: plaster skull, one-inch hole saw drill, white primer spray paint, gold spray paint with aluminium finish (or whatever colour you like), white clay, white and red (optional) candles

How could we not include candles, right? In fact, you could just buy any white and red candle and you’re all set! Just add a creepy skull to mix things up. Listed below are the materials needed. You could get this at your nearest craft store, especially at this time of the year.

A Beautiful Mess

First, draw a hole to mark each candle’s placement. Once done, use your drill to make the hole. If ever you drill all the way through, use the white clay to patch things up and to make a base where your candle will stand.

After which, spray the white primer paint all over the skull. Let it dry then apply the gold spray. Always remember to let it try in between coats.

Now, try to fit your white candles to see if they are snug enough. If not, you could just use a knife to carve the excess candle base. You could also use the white clay if the candle has a loose fit.

To top things off, remove your white candles again and drizzle them with a red melted candle wax for a bloody effect. This step is optional. But, if you do have more time, then by all means.

Witch Riding in the Moonlight

What you’ll need: putty-coloured paint, natural sponge, round lamp, black construction paper

To do this project, you could get those moon lamps available online. If you don’t find one, you could use any round light fixture. Coat the inside of the round lamp with putty-coloured paint using a natural sponge to achieve the moon-like texture.

And then, loosely wrap the black Crêpe paper around the wire four times to create the flower’s bud, pinching the bottom edge of the paper against the wire as you go. Continue wrapping the paper around the wire, gathering the paper at the flower’s base until you have a full flower. Repeat several times until you have enough flowers.
